Bean Dinner

We love the Ohio River...or better yet, we love Jared's family's place on the Ohio River. Every fall Jared's uncle Pete puts on a "bean dinner"...he gets up early and starts a big fire and puts on pots of beans (white, pinto, brown) and makes a homemade veggie soup. And all day long people show up...family, friends, extended family...and bring more food and we sit around and eat...play cards...eat some more...you get the picture. Its just plain fun and relaxing!

The weather was beautiful this weekend also...cold in the morning and nights but warm during the day. And driving up through West Virginia we noticed the trees starting to change color...something that probably won't happen here for another 3-4 weeks. It was beautiful!

Usually we try to head out early Sunday so we can get home in time to relax a little...but today we took our time sitting by the fire and talking with everyone...it was a nice change of pace! Jared was exhausted from driving and collapsed on the couch to watch football...while I did about 6 loads of laundry!

Well, I'm off to Miami for a couple days and then Friday we head to the beach with our friends Sean & Naomi. The boys will golf and we'll go shop...its a fair trade off!
