Friday was Jared's 28th birthday and we made a weekend out of it. Friday night we headed to Atlanta, hitting every outlet shopping center along the way of course, and stayed at the Marriott downtown. The hotel was gorgeous!! And since Jared had been craving oysters for weeks we went to McCormick & Schmicks for dinner at the CNN center. It was a nice night so we walked there from the hotel and then took a cab after dinner over the Atlantic Station to catch the new Bond movie. We got to AS at 8pm hoping to get into the 8:30 or 9pm movie...let me tell you, not the best idea to go to a movie on opening night! We couldn't get tickets until the 10:00pm movie (two hours past my bed time)...but I tried to be a trooper since it was Jared's birthday! We didn't get back to the hotel until 1am but the movie was good (a little slow to get to the plot line and the chase scenes were WAY fast)...but over all worth it!
Saturday we got up early and drove to Alabama for the Bama vs. Mississippi St. game. We were invited by a publication Jared's company advertises in and our seats were in the Sky box so we couldn't pass it up! However, it was another long day and the weather was crazy cold (think of me in three jackets, stocking cap and blanket and still FREEZING!!). The game was great and even though we were inside for the game, they had the windows open so we might as well been in the stands...but I'll bet our food was way better!
Sunday we drove all 7.5 hours back to Charlotte...I slept the whole way home while my loving husband drove. We both crashed about 8pm Sunday night and slept like babies! All in all it was a great weekend and so fun!!!
