Today was our 22 week check up with Dr. Fishburn! I can't believe how fast the time is going...in two weeks he will consider me to be in my third trimester already...can you believe that???!!! What this means is that in two weeks the doctor will look at me and the baby as separate patients and should anything happen, the baby is considered "viable". This means if he/she needed to be delivered it has all its necessary organs, etc and has a fair chance at survival. Of course we are praying the baby stays put for awhile longer!!
Jared's mom flew in for the weekend and was able to come to the appt with us and meet our doc (since she used to work with his father-in-law). Our little bean was being so stubborn (not at all like his/her mom & dad!!). Everywhere the tech moved the sonogram probe, the baby moved in the other direction. After awhile the baby actually started kicking back at the probe! I could definitely feel stronger than normal kicks, but Jared & Jeanee could actually see my belly jump and move as the baby threw an elbow or kicked out! It was amazing...seriously if I had a quarter on my belly it would have been tossed in the air! After about five minutes of this hide and seek game, the tech went to get another nurse to try and find it. Kelly, who actually helped last time they had trouble getting the heartbeat, came in and found it within a minute! She's got the magic touch!
So, I've gained about 6-7 pounds so far, I'm measuring 21 cm from pelvic bone to top of uterus which is right on track, the baby is about 11 inches long and weighs about 1 pound and we're both healthy as can be...PTL!!!
