22 1/2 weeks

Yesterday was my latest OB appt. Baby's heartbeat was 148 and boy was he or she active. Yeesh!! The baby always makes the nurse work to find the heartbeat and then she has to "chase" the baby to keep it going. Its kinda funny for me =) I'm measuring right on track at 22 weeks which, I admit, surprised me. I feel HUUUUGE!!! (even though everyone tells me how small I look!!) My next appt is Thanksgiving week when my parents are here so my mom & dad will get to come with me of they want!

Its interesting being pregnant at different times of the year. I wasn't really big with Jayne until spring so I got away with wearing most of my normal clothes and dresses/skirts. Now that its colder and I don't fit in my normal size clothes, I am realizing that I need to upgrade my wardrobe. Being pregnant in the winter when I wear bigger shirts/sweaters anyways doesn't help make me feel any "smaller"! So I'm struggling a little with feeling fat and frumpy. Jared laughs at me and reminds me I'm pregnant, but tell that to a girl who always struggled with weight issues...doesn't help!!

Anyways...on to more fun topics...our house!!! It is coming together so beautifully. We are so excited. I ran down yesterday to check on something and I'm glad I went b/c I noticed that they put our trees in the wrong spot. Normally each house gets three trees lining the back property line, but since we already have all the trees back there we thought it would be overkill so we asked to move them on the sides of the house to block some of the neighboring houses. They said we could,  so we spent nearly 45 minutes walking the property and choosing where we wanted them...only to find out they bulldozed over our marker flags and put them in the back anyways. So I spent about an hour dealing with that yesterday and we found out that the trees weren't planted on our property anyways and had to be moved regardless. See, our back yard is awesome b/c it is actually bigger than its supposed to be. Our yard backs up to "common space" for the neighborhood but since it drops off to the raven below it wont ever be used and so we can "take over" that part as our yard. But for real estate law purposes we can't have any trees back there when the surveyors come for the final review. Understandable...lets just say the landscaping supervisor wasn't a very happy camper last night! I felt bad, but hey, we're paying for it and want it to be as perfect as possible =)

Now I'm off to Phoenix for a fun weekend of snuggling my sweet niece and visiting with my brother & SIL. I have been looking forward to this for so long, so happy its finally here!
