3 1/2 Months!

Sweet baby Jayne turned 3 1/2 months old yesterday!! She has changed so much over the past few months and amazes us every day with new found strength, smiles, coos and achievements.
She is sleeping 12 hours at night, still struggles with naps during the day but will usually take a 1.5-2 hr nap in the morning and maybe two 1 hr naps in the afternoon. She gets really fussy around 5pm and just wants to be held. Which usually means Daddy will take her outside to sit on the patio and she will fall asleep for a bit. It is so sweet to see the two of them cuddling!! Last night was Jayne's first night not being swaddled!! We haven't swaddled her arms since we brought her home from the hospital, but she always liked having her legs swaddled. She'll wake up and cry if her feet popped out of it...but last night I thought I'd give the sleep blanket a try since we have it and she was consistently kicking out of her swaddle and the blanket we put on top...and I'm happy to report she didn't wake up once last night and even fell asleep with it for her morning nap. Yeah!! Come on people, its the small things in life that get parents excited =)

She is more active during awake time and actually grabs toys intentionally and can hold onto things when placed in her hands. When she eats now she will grab onto my shirt, hair or if bottle feeding she will hold the bottle. Last night I was actually able to let go of the bottle and she held it in place with her own hands...I was so proud!! She hasn't tried to roll over again since last week and still doesn't love tummy time, but we're working on that! She smiles more every day but still no giggles...I love waking her up in the morning...the minute she sees our faces she breaks out this huge grin and starts kicking and waving her arms. It feels so good to see her excitement in seeing us! Over all she is a very happy baby...definitely needy towards the end of the day just wanting to be held, but we're enjoying that time knowing that one day she wont want to be held at all.

This week will be a busy one for us...we have out Life Group kick off party at our house on Friday and our neighborhood garage sale Saturday. I love garage sales and going through all our "junk" and trying to get rid of all we can. Hopefully it will be a good one, we need the money and extra space!!!
