Weekend Fun

Is it just me or do the weekends just fly by? I swear we blink and its Sunday night adn we are wondering what we did all weekend! This weekend was actually a really fun time. Saturday it was rainy so we headed up to IKEA to kill some time. That store overwhelms me...but we got some great ideas for new stuff for our house *eventually*...only bought a $1.99 toy for Jayne! Pretty good for us =)

Saturday night we had LifeGroup at our house but it was only us and one other couple since everyone was out of town. We ended up having a nice cookout and chatted for hours. In between all this I was calling/texting my brother & SIL to get updates on Lily. She is just adorable and so sweet, I want to squeeze her...okay maybe just pinch her cheeks?? Anyways, we'll have to wait awhile for that since we currently don't have a trip on the books to see them...YET!!! She is doing so well and Sarah looks AMAZING after just giving birth and I'm taking bets that she'll be back at the gym in a week working out ; ) And I must say it is so weird to see my brother cuddling this tiny baby and cooing at her...he is such a proud papa! They are both such good parents already and its only been a couple days...we are thrilled to pieces for them and cant wait to hold her!

Hard to believe I only have two weeks until Jayne's birthday. I am in full party planning mode and have a lot to do before her party. I think I have most everything (except the food) bought but I need to get on making the decorations. I promise I'm not going crazy, but I do want it to be special, if only for me! I know she will only care about the balloons and wrapping paper. But I cant wait to see what she does with her cake...I want her to go all out and smash it, shove her face in etc. But she will probably surprise me and be all dainty about it... *sigh* such a girl =)
Her face when we first put her on the grass...

Jayne is doing so well and is so funny. She is very insistent about what she wants or doesn't want and makes it very clear. And this weekend she started the "drop it" game. You know the one...kids drop stuff to make you pick it up or to get a rise out of you. She has mastered the food dropping thing. She looks at us square in the face and throws her hand off to the side, preparing for the drop, we both say "No 'mam" and she then she drops it to see what we will do. Jared said very sternly & loud, "NO JAYNE" once and she started to pout, pushing out that bottom lip. It was all we could do not to laugh. It was so cute...but it is so annoying and I hope it ends quickly! She can identify her nose, eyes, ears, mouth, head, hair & feet when we ask her. And she LOVES looking for birds and airplanes now. Puppys are still her favorite and even if she hears/sees a dog from far away she makes her "dog sound". She is close to walking and has let go of things she is holding onto for a few seconds, but wither sits down quickly or grabs back on. She's just not ready to go full out yet, and I'm okay with that. I know she will when she is ready!
