So, I'm typing this from my brand spanking new laptop! This is huge for me. I've never had one before and I love the portability! We've been talking about getting one for years but just never took the plunge. We have a nice desktop, but Jared travels so much and I never like being downstairs at night when he isn't home (I'm a scardy-cat!) so I would basically put Jayne to bed and go to bed myself. Now that I have Savannah and she usually likes to party from 7-11pm...I can lay in bed with her and still update my blog before bed or stalk people on facebook (he he). I also use the desktop to do photoshop stuff so now I can take all that off and put it on here and my external hardrive. And lets admit it, it's just nice having something that's mine =)
As I type the littlest is asleep for her am nap and Jayne is running around my bedroom with my phone pretending to call "grandpa eff" (my dad). Whenever she gets a phone she calls grandpa and whenever she hears the skype tone she yells Sarah (for aunt Sarah) or Jeanee (Grandma Jeanee)! She is just doing so many funny things lately. I love it...she's turning into her own little person. Today is another dreary, rainy day so we plan on staying in our pjs and staying home all day. We've gone out three days this week for play dates and we just need a day at home. We've also had some visitors...my aunt and uncle from Columbus stopped over on Monday night and last night Jarred's aunt & uncle from Toledo stopped by. Its so nice to see everyone outside of Ohio =)
Savannah is such a good baby. And today is her 5 week birthday, ahhhhh! Hard to believe its been that long...although I think I say that all the time! We've been trying to figure out her sleeping issues. She pretty much only wants to sleep in our arms during the day. Even if she is so tired or dead asleep...we lay her down and her eyes pop open. Its been pretty frustrating. Especially after her 6/7pm feeding when she should go to bed, she just wants to be up hanging out. But once I feed her again around 11pm she'll go to sleep for about five hours or so. Which is very nice, but I need some relief during the day! She has been smiling and cooing in response to our silly faces for weeks now and can hold her head up for 5-10 minutes which I think is amazing for a five week old! She rolls from her belly to back when doing tummy time and isn't a huge fan of being on her belly unless she is sleeping. Sometimes I can get her to take a nap in her crib on her belly during the day. But then I constantly check on her b/c I get so nervous!! I never do that at night though so don't berate me for it!! She is eating pretty consistently ever 3-4 hours during the day and is such a good eater! She has been taking a bottle like a champ a couple times a week and still likes her paci when she is really fussy.
Jayne has been so fun lately. She copies everything we do, including trying to feed her babies like mommy feeds Savannah!! He he, gotta get a picture of that sometime! We've had a few play dates this week which has been great for her. Yesterday we went over to my friend Joyce's with about 12 other moms and 17 kiddos to make spring flower pots. Then the kids played and we hung out. It was nice to get out of the house and Jared appreciated it since he needed to get some work done! Jayne is so loving and always giving kids hugs...whether they want one or not! She also LOVES her sissy. First thing every morning she asks "where sissy?" when we walk in to get her up. She loves to give Savannah kisses and hugs, which usually end with Jayne trying to smother Savannah! Definitely cant leave them alone in a room together yet. Jayne has been playing make believe a lot lately with her babies or cooking. My favorite is when she puts on my shoes, grabs a bag or purse, keys and pushes her baby in a stroller calling out "bye-bye" to us. Its adorable! She has also gotten really into "art" as she calls is. She will sit at the table for an hour drawing or coloring. She'll draw a picture and then hold out her arms saying "ta-da" like my dad taught her. She also does this when she knows we want her to eat. Take a bite and "ta-da"!! Adorable! She is learning a ton every day. I swear she adds like 20 new words a day. She mimics and repeats everything!
This has been a trying time for us just trying to find our groove with the newest little one and still showing Jayne enough attention, etc. We are definitely sleep deprived, but its manageable and we know it will get better. We are so blessed for our girls and everything in our lives. Everyone tells me I'm doing a good job, and I appreciate the encouragement, but I am constantly doubting my mommy skills and the amount of time and attention I give to each girl. Mommy guilt has arrived with having two. I just want them both to know and feel our love constantly. When I'm dealing with one and the other is crying it breaks my heart, but I know this is the season we are in and sometimes I just can't do everything at once. I'm learning and surviving and that's what counts =)
I'll post more picts once I get everything updated on my computer!
