Saturday I met up with a friend to go garage saling. One huge neighborhood was having their sale...the one we wait for each fall/spring. Its such a big neighborhood I actually got lost trying to get out. It was so funny too b/c after the fact everyone reminded me I had both gps on my phone and in the car. Duh, lets just say I had a blonde moment!! Our first stop I found Gymboree clothes for Jayne for next summer for $1 a piece and walked away with a bag full. Can't beat a deal like that! But my most favorite find was a Bell helmet for $2. Jayne loves this Dora scooter a neighbor gave her but I wasn't going to let her ride it without a helmet so it was perfect timing. I also got a $30 potty (I know who buys a $30 potty for little kids???) but I got it for $1 along with some brand new fall skirts/tights for Jayne. I also found this really nice copper entertaining bucket for silverware for $1. And I got a purse to match my new shoes for $2. Seriously I wish I could garage sale for a career. So much fun!!
I also found this little Panther's dress for $1...had to get it for Jared. He wears his Panther's jersey every Sunday!
Then after grocery shopping (where Jayne fell out of the cart...we'll get into that in a minute) we went to a friends birthday party. Ben turned 3!!! We haven't seen him or his parents in months but it was nice to catch up and let the kiddos run crazy and get all sugared up! The party was at the gym Ben's mommy works at. Jayne loves hanging on bars and jumping into the "cheese pit" (ie foam pit). Now back to J falling out of the cart. We let her sit in the big part of the cart and she is usually pretty good about it. But today she kept jumping up and after repeatedly telling her to sit we stopped the cart to get her out and she lurched forward and right over the front of the cart. Luckily she somersaulted, landed on her bottom and then banged her head. She bit her tongue in the process so blood was running out of her mouth and she was scared, we were scared...but it could have been so much worse. Praise the Lord she is fine. Both Jared and I were so upset but trying to stay calm, did a once over making sure she was fine. She was clingy after that and didn't want to sit anywhere in the cart (can you blame her) but by the end she was running around and standing on the cart (moving REALLY slow), but we didn't want her to be afraid of the cart. Ouch, poor baby!!
So needless to say we are thinking of making her wear her new helmet full time ;)
