I know, I know...its been awhile, dear friends. But we've been "vacationing" in Ohio and been sick a lot over the past month. I am so ready for this season of sickness to be over and can only pray that with Springs arrival we will see less of it.
Medicine just for the three of us for the week

So first we'll start with the yuckies. I swear Savannah has been sick the past seven months straight. Every time we go to church or MOPS she catches something that knocks her out and then moves through the rest of us. Rarely a week goes by that someone isn't sick. Unfortunately since her stint in the hospital in January, every cold she gets causes wheezing and round the clock breathing treatments. On the Thursday we left for Ohio both girls came down with something. But I figured it was just a cold and we'd be over it in a day or two. By the time we got to my parents house from the airport Savannah sounded bad (but not the worst I've heard her)...so we stuck both girls in the warm bath, gave them medicine and off to bed they went.

Friday, although still sick of course, we headed down to Columbus to spend the weekend with my family. It was so great to see my aunt, uncle, cousins and grandma. The girls LOVED being spoiled and loved on by everyone. We went through lots of tissue and by Saturday I felt myself getting sick. Monday my dad was able to get  Savannah and I into see his doctor (Jayne was better by this point). I had a bad sinus infection and beginning of respiratory infection and Savannah had double ear infection and respiratory infection. We both went on antibiotics and we had to borrow a nebulizer and do breathing treatments with S. I coughed so much and so hard that I pulled muscles which was the hardest part. I am so blessed that my parents took such good care of us while we were there. I cant imagine dealing with two kiddos while sick as I felt.

It takes two...Grandma's helping with treatments before bed

Once we got home, Savannah was just finishing up her 10 day antibiotic stint when I noticed she had red spots on her upper body. By Friday morning she was covered head to toe in hives. So off to the dr we went and the thought is she had an allergic reaction to amoxicillian. We also found out she still had an ear infection in her left ear so they put her on a different antibiotic. Unfortunately the hives only got worse over the weekend and we took her to urgent care on Sunday morning where the docs thought she was still having a reaction to the new antibiotics. So they told us not to give her any type of antibiotic an put her on a steroid for five days. Within five hours of the steroid, she began acting better and some of her hives began fading. It took a few days but they are now all gone. Folk, she looked horrible. The hives began coming together to form what they call "plates" which are large, raised patches cover her entire belly and each thigh. Hives are so weird...they come and go. At one point she had some on her face that would come and go every few minutes. Crazy! But all that to say we aren't giving her any more antibiotics and she is all better now. She has already ahd about 4-5 ear infections and I pray she didoes have anymore since we cant give her anything!

See hives on her thighs? This was when they first began...

And her poor arms?? This little one is due a break from being sick!
