Easter Weekend

We had a wonderful Easter weekend, celebrating our risen King! I love that Jayne is at the age to understand things and ask questions. Every time we pass a cross, she says "Jesus died on the cross?" To which I launch into a discussion we've had numerous times over the past few weeks abut how Jesus died on the cross for her and each of us to take away our sins. She doesn't quite get "sins" yet, but she definitely gets that Jesus died on the cross then rose again and went to Heaven. Its such a joy to be able to teach these things to her.

We dyed Easter eggs and made edible birds nests as a family.

Opened Easter baskets (Jayne snuck down before we were out of bed!

We went to church...love the girls Easter dresses. I bought one from a friend of ours and then a friend let me know that someone was selling the same dress in Savannah's size so I snatched it up =)

Both girls had a blast looking for eggs in our yard. Savannah, again, grabbed two eggs and was set...but she learned how to open the eggs before Jayne did. I swear S found all the eggs with coins in them and tried to eat them =) Crazy girl!

After naps we headed to Jared's aunt & uncles house for dinner and another egg hunt for the girls. It was a wonderful, action packed day.

We also spent some time this weekend redoing all the mulch around the house. We ran out of mulch and I * stupidly* took both girls with me to Lowe's to buy more. Just picture for a minute... Jayne walking on her own (and me trying to keep a two and a half year old by my side), while I held Savannah on one hip and pushed a flatbed cart with 15 "heavy" bags of mulch on it with one hand...needless to say, people took pity on me and someone came to help me to the car ;) But after all of that, our flower beds look great!

Today the girls and I spent some more much needed time outside. They both helped me wash the car and water the flowers (and grass, and mulch and rocking chairs...you get the picture!!) And then we went for a walk around the block where the girls ran out some energy (which worked b/c they both took a three hour nap!!)
