Jayne's first day...
She was an angel all day long, hardly a peep out of her and she ate like a champ. The night however was a different story. She woke pretty much every hour and I told everyone I would rather them sleep so they could take the day shift...DO NOT DO THIS!!! That first night was a learning experience for me and made me realize that my only job should be to fed her and hand her off to someone else to change and put down. I was drained and had an emotional melt down the next day b/c I was so tired and scared of what night #2 would be like. I couldn't handle another night like that.
Jayne's second day...
Jayne's second day...
Again she was an angel all day and definitely more active/alert. She was consistently feeding every 3 hours and would be awake for 30-45 minutes afterwards so we did tummy time with her and let people hold her, etc. After my emotional breakdown I was forced by my wonderful husband (love him for this!!) to go to bed. I took an 1.5 hour nap and he brought Jayne to me for her 8pm feeding then I went back to bed until her 11pm feeding, which actually wasn't until 12pm. That's four full hours folks!! (three once she was done eating)...this is the longest we will let her go without waking her up since she is such a peanut and needs to gain more weight. But it was wonderful and everyone in the house got a good nights sleep...especially Momma which was much needed! Oh and she got her first "bath" yesterday. Yikes, its scary holding a semi wet, slippery baby. She can only get sponge baths until her cord falls off, but there is nothing in the world like a baby just after a bath. Mmmmmmm, I could eat her up!!!!

Yes, I know I look tired...I was!
Jayne's third day...
Today was Jayne's first doctor appt. And we are so proud at how well she is doing. Everyone keeps commenting on how beautiful she is (we're biased, but its nice to hear from others as well!!) And how tiny she is...she's at the in between stage clothes wise. Newborn outfits are way too big for her and she will pop her shoulders out of them (even gowns), but the preemie outfits are almost too perfect of a fit for her! Crazy girl...its fun to see the closet with pink in it now!!
Stats
Birth weight- 6lbs 1oz

We are so in love with our little girl its not even funny. It shocks me how much you can love someone you just met. When she cries and stops the minute she is in my arms, melts my heart. Knowing that she depends on us for everything, that we are her whole world is a feeling that is indescribable. And watching Jared with his little girl is one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The way he looks at her and talks to her...adorable!!!
