So, if you know me at all you know that I am a creature of habit...and schedule's. I make a plan and get really upset when that plan changes or doesn't go the way I envisioned it...but I can't help it. Its in my blood, my dad is the same way whether he likes to believe it or not!!
I'm trying really hard not to be overly rigid in Jayne's schedule and I proud to say that although there is a schedule which allows for some consistency during the day, it is FLEXIBLE. Meaning we won't NOT go out with friends b/c its Jayne's bed time or she needs to eat...we just let her sleep in her car seat, skip her bath, feed her in public, etc. She is a well traveled little girl and has proven that she can sleep pretty much anywhere and in either complete silence or crazy loud environments...which I am extremely grateful for. I've babysat kids who could only sleep in their crib, in their own room, with the fan set at a specific level, nightlight on...you get the picture!
That being said, I'm trying to get more consistency with her nap times. She usually takes a really good morning nap (usually 1.5-2hrs), but she struggles with her afternoon naps. This week I began noticing that she starts to rub her face in the floor, my shoulder or her hands and gives this pitiful sounding cry when she is really tired. I'm trying to catch on to these cues and see if they happen around the same time each day so I can start to organize her naps better. Twice this week she took 2-2.5 hr afternoon naps. I was shocked (and admittedly grateful since it meant I could nap too!). Then she'll take a 30-45min nap around 5pm. Supposedly babies her age should sleep between 9-11 hrs a night...she's been doing great with 7-8 hrs a night so we're going to start testing her by moving her 11pm feeding back to 10:30 for a few nights and if she does well for a few nights, we'll keep moving it back. We'll see how she does!
I'm also working on tummy time with her. She hates being flat on her tummy, but I know she needs to learn how to push up on her arms. She's done it a few times so we know she can, she just doesn't like too. But if I prop her up on the Boppy pillow she'll stare at toys or her mirror...just don't want her to get used to be "propped" up...we need to build those cute little baby muscles!!

Cute pictures! You can definitely tell she's more interactive and developing a little personality!
